Registered Nurse Midwives (HPC/RN2)

Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of: Registered Nurse Midwives (HPC/RN2).

The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health) is currently seeking to employ Registered Nurse Midwives for the St. James Public Health Service, Hanover Health Services, Trelawny Health Services and Westmoreland Health Services. Reporting to the Public Health Nurse Level 4, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the following core functions:

Qualifications

• BSc. Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Certificate in Midwifery from an accredited institution.
• Current registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica.

Responsibilities

• Conducting Antenatal, Child Health, Family Planning and Medical Clinics.
• Assisting with postnatal clinics.
• Collaborating with and making recommendations to relevant personnel and facilities regarding continuing care for clients.
• Conducting home visits as required.
• Collecting specimen for lab tests.
• Monitoring and requesting supplies needed for client care

• Excellent bedside skills.
